AR-7, also known as Atypical retinoid 7, was developed as a highly potent and selective enhancer of the chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) through antagonizing RARα. AR-7 was suggested to be used at 5-20 µM final concentration in vitro and in cellular assays.
